Meet Magento Asia 2019, the biggest Magento community event of the region has been a huge success! Held today in the Siam Kempinski Hotel, Bangkok, the event brought together legions of eCommerce professionals, Magento merchants and enthusiasts, tech-nerds, solution-providers and business owners from across the globe under the same roof. Also, the event was home to the vast global Magento partners’ and developers’ community where tech-professionals and thought-leaders could interact on the same stage, exchanging knowledge on eCommerce and digitalizing one’s business.
The flamboyant event was organized by SmartOSC, a Magento partner. It was due to their endeavors that this event was a success. The event brought together numerous partners from around the globe including Ranosys Technologies, ICUBE, InSync Solutions, Webkul, Marvelic Engine, Codilar, etc. As always, the ever-inspiring Ben Marks, Magento evangelist and Max, Head of Engineering at Adobe were present at the event to share their valuable knowledge. With a variety of professionals meeting at the event, Meet Magento Asia 2019 proved to be a great place for global networking and discussing innovative ideas to brighten the future. Major Highlights of Meet Magento Asia 2019
Donald Lim, Regional Head of Customer Experience (Asia) at VMLY&R took the stage and talked about how data can be of importance to enrich the customer experience level. According to him, the right customers should be targeted with the right experience in order to maximize longevity – his study says 34% of the companies have already undertaken Customer Journey Mapping very seriously.

Lim also discussed the growing concern of data-driven convergence. According to his presentation, 92% of companies reported that the pace of their investment for AI and big data has been increasing. Also, 88% reported their urgency to invest in AI and big data sectors. Lim didn’t forget to mention that the customer experience directly generates brand growth and is crucial for the success of a company.

The event dug deep as to how the market is changing – how B2B is taking over B2C! Meet Magento Asia dealt with the fact that B2B should be exactly treated like B2C since, in the coming years, it is all going to be the same.

New trends and insights on the checkout process were brought forward at Meet Magento Asia – it is seen that almost 69% of online customers abandon their cart after adding more than one item to it. Also, it was a shock to know that 41% of the customers who initiate the checkout flow never even complete it. Meet Magento aims at curating new ideas and methods to overcome these situations.

Nicholas Kontopoulos, Head of APAC Commerce took the stage and talked about The Purpose of Purpose – how making and keeping promises build Trust. According to his study, with a strong sense of purpose are able to transform and innovate better. He made sure people understood that trust is essential when it comes to commencing business!

He also conducted an expert group discussion regarding how omnichannel business is crucial in the market, how big a role personalization plays on the online market and how to strengthen customer interaction and eventually retention.
