SAP Business One 9.0, as we know is the first major release of Release Family 9. SAP has continued to invest in extending the core functionality of Business One across a number of different business logic, reporting and analytics functions.
By introducing a centralized implementation framework and extending the current implementation tools, SAP Business One 9.0 makes Business One easier to implement. With improved integration, a number of SAP Add-Ons are now fully integrated into the core product including new Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) capabilities for Business One.
SAP Business One 9.0 is easier to customize and extend, offering new tools like the SAP Business One Studio Suite and SAP Business One Workflow which is a new platform in SAP Business One 9.0 enabling users to define, customize and execute workflows for key business processes.
Of the SAP Business One Versions,the promised Preview Version of SAP Business One 9.0 has been launched already and unrestricted shipment is scheduled on Q2 2013, so in this scenario let’s have a look at the available versions and support strategies of SAP Business One.
Despite the fact that many of the existing SAP Business One users are in 8.8 or 8.81, the real scenario is the only SAP Business One version which is at this stage supported by SAP is 8.82.
SAP Business one Versions
The customers who were using SAP Business One 2007 upgraded to 8.8 or 8.81 almost a year back, because 2007 Support has been closed by SAP in July 2011. However SAP has also stopped supporting 8.8 & 8.81 starting from this year 29th February 2012.
So at this stage till 30th June 2015 SAP Business One 8.82 will be actively supported by SAP. New Patch Levels if planned to launch, that will also be on 8.82 and on 9.0.
