Sometimes it becomes inevitable to raise purchase requests for various purchasing requirements in the purchase cycle of any organization. The purchase request is an optional preliminary step in the purchase cycle through which various departments of the organization can request to the purchase division for their various procurement requirements. It helps both the requester (any department) and the purchasing department to do the required communication for any procurement process and to do better procurement planning. Purchase Request document is similar to other marketing documents in SAP B1 except a few new areas to support purchase request specific process. It can be copied to either purchase quotation or purchase order for further processing in the document flow of the Purchase A/P module.
