Affordability

Magento Go comes up with 4 Paid Plans starting from 15 USD to 125 USD Per Month which are really affordable for small business owners to choose. Each has its own support on Maximum number of SKUs, Orders, etc. so you can upgrade as your Business Grows

Cons:

  1. Magento Go is not ideal for large Enterprises who is having SKUs of more than 10000, because no Plans can support that level
  2. Business Specific Customizations which required overriding of Magento Default Features will not be possible with Magento Go because it is a Hosted Solution
  3. Good Multi Lingual Support will not be there in Magento Go, can support only 3 Languages
  4. Magento Go will not be able to support B2B scenarios, because it is meant for B2C
  5. Third Party extensions developed by the companies, who are not Magento Partner, can’t be used with Magento Go. It supports only Trusted Extensions developed by Magento Industry Partners
  6. Specific Branding will not be possible through Magento Go, as the stores are designed through Pre Defined Themes
  7. As it doesn’t support Virtual and Downloadable Product Types, so not ideal for Businesses who sell these kinds of products, like Posters, Songs & Games, Pictures, etc.
  8. Localized Payment Gateways will not be supported through Magento Go, like if you are in India you can’t use Bill Desk, if you are from Scandinavia you can’t use Klarna, because these are not supported with Magento Go
  9. If you have outgrown with SKUs/Orders, you can’t migrate to Magento Community/Enterprise. You again need to start from scratch.

So Magento Go is a good option for the Start Ups until their business mature, but once it is matured enough, it will be good to migrate the data and go for Magento Enterprise because that is the next level.
