Preface
Solr is the popular, blazing fast open source enterprise search platform from Apache. Its major features are full-text search, hit highlighting, faceted search, dynamic clustering, database integration, rich document (e.g., Word, PDF) handling, and geospatial search. Solr is highly scalable, used in many largest internet sites in the world.

Solr Bridge Search
This is a integration of Solr into Magento to make the Magento search more robust (following Google search). The extension has the following key features:
+ Faceted search.
+ Auto suggestion.
+ Misspelling correction.
+ Full ajax result page.
+ Overlay large image in result page.
+ Attribute search weight (Specify which product attribute more significance for search).
With this feature, administrator can set which attribute is more significance than other. Ex: product name is more significance than description.
+ Multi stores support (one index for one store).
+Product attributes filter (Now it is ready)

Solr Bridge Search 19 19Very good alternative to Magento Solr Search We had a lot of troubles with the core search function. It never worked properly in the many different languages we have in our installation. Solrbridge Search solved them all. Sure there were some issues getting everything exaclty the way we wanted it but the support was (is) very good. Even a year after buying the extension we get constant updates & free support. All our tickets are solved quickly and even new functionality implement w/o added cost. I can highly recommend this extension. February 4, 2014Worth waiting for... Despite waiting a couple of times for support, bug fixing and updates, I would recommend this extension to anyone who wants to implement a professional search solution. Because it offers unique functionalities other extensions don't offer. Also the offered support in customisation in functionality and styling makes SOLR Bridge the most scalable and flexible search solotion on the market today. Thumbs up! October 17, 2013Worst Search I ever had in my life...!!! I was using the Solr-Search-Extension from last 8 months and facing many problems in search. It was worst search I have ever seen in my life. And getting no support from there team, once we have purchased the Extension we never get the response from there team. This extension is useless to me. I have mailed the Developer and tried to contact many times by gmail and by phone. Many of my team members also have tried to contact the Developer but every time disappointed. I personally advice that please donot use this solr-search-extension, if you use it then you will face many problems and you will be mentally disturbed. Then finally we stopped using this extension and wasted our 450.00 Euro. Mangento Basic search is better than Solr-Search-Extension. September 13, 2013Excellent extension & great Support I am really happy with this extension. The usability is great and the developer support is awesome. I needed some modifications and the developer was very helpfully and implemented the features exactly as described. Now the module is integrated perfectly with my magento installation. August 12, 2013It basically works, but it is still full of bugs :-( It looks like a turn-key solution at first, because it appears to work fine providing great and fast Solr-based search results in Magento. But as you take a closer look on the results this extension displays and start integrating it in a store with multiple views you will discover so many bugs, that you will find yourself coding your own solution. The developer was very supportive at first, but as we discovered one bug after another he finally did not respond anymore. We have recently updated to the newest version (1.9.0) and many bugs and issues we have already reported are still there. The major ones are: - Many prices displayed in the ajax-results are wrong (for instance you see 19.99 in the ajax -results, but 3.29 on the product page); - category and attribute names are taken from the default settings (store_id=0) and thus not translated; - some labels displayed in the frontend are hard-coded in English and do not use translation; - the indexing is extremely inefficient and slow, it takes more than 1h to index 1000 products from cli (Solr itself could do it in 10 minutes or less) and it takes 10-20 seconds to save a product in the backend, because Solr-bridge updates the Solr-document so slow. We thoroughly documented and reported all bugs we have found so far and we were patient. After having updated to the recent version (1.9.0) we have spent lots of time fixing the old bugs and hiding wrong output. We fill sorry for the developer who have spent lots of hours in developing this extension, but we also feel responsible to tell others what to expect here. Conclusion: if you have a single store view in English, you are the lucky one who can probably use it as a turn-key solution. Everyone else will find himself spending hours of time reverse engineering and fixing bugs.
