SAP Business One 9.0 for HANA PL11 released in this quarter and is already available in GA. You can also avail all the latest features introduced by upgrading SAP Business One to 9.0 with the latest patch for SAP HANA. But before you start planning the up gradation and/or migration of the database, here are some quick tips which you should consider when upgrading to SAP Business One 9.0 for HANA PL11.
Migration from SAP B1 9.0 PL11
One can think the easy way to migrate from SAP B1 9.0 PL11 to SAP Business One 9.0 for HANA PL11, as this is same patch level. But this is not supported as off now.
From Previous version SAP B1 8.82 running on HANA
If you are using SAP Business One 8.81 running on HANA and planning to upgrade to new SAP Business One 9.0 for HANA PL11, first you need to check your Patch Level of 8.82, if it is PL02 or lower, you can upgrade it directly. New PL11 will replace the installation package and can provide an easy up gradation process.
From Previous version SAP Business One 8.82/8.81 running on SQL Server
As you are running previous SAP B1 version and within a different RDBMS, so upgrading to SAP Business One 9.0 for HANA PL11 will involve multiple steps:
- Upgrade the database from SAP B1 8.81/8.82 to SAP Business One 9.0 PL10 on MS SQL Server
- Migrate the MS SQL Server Database to HANA database, you can upgrade to SAP Business One 9.0 for HANA PL02
- Then you can easily upgrade to SAP Business One 9.0 for HANA PL11 as you can upgrade it directly
Consider Upgrading OS
SAP Business One 9.0 for HANA PL11 supports both SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP2 and SP3. So if you are using SP2 OS and want to upgrade to SP3, first upgrade your existing Patch Level to PL11 for HANA and then plan the upgrade of OS to SP3.
